EUGENE LEUNG

Eugene Leung is the founder of INJURY, multi-disciplinary artist, curator, creative director, fashion visionary, musician and award-winning CG film maker in Sydney, Australia.

Eugene was professionally trained as an Architect and founded his own sub-culture-infused Australian fashion label INJURY in Sydney, in Year 2004.

Together with his long term partner and Brand Director Dan Tse, INJURY showcased in numerous on-schedule fashion weeks across Paris, New York, Sydney, Shanghai and Beijing. Their runway collections were sold to over 80 select stores across the globe, including Harvey Nichols, I.T., D-mop etc., with lots of supports from celebrities and international press coverage like VOGUE, SHOWstudio, Hypebeast/ Hypebae, Harpers Bazaar, GQ, WAD, WWD, So-en magazine etc.

Driven by creating mixed-reality and immersive experiences in Fashion and Design, Eugene has curated and creative directed numerous design festivals, notably ‘BRAINWORKS’ fashion show at M+ Museum, ‘Heart of Cyberpunk Immersive Experience’ and the DFA Award-winning ‘FFFRIDAY 2018' & 'FFFRIDAY 2017’ to name a few, that were recognised as some of the most pioneer events in Hong Kong. His recent project ‘Heart of Cyberpunk’ has received 16,642 guests between 17th - 25th Oct 2020, with over 150 media channels coverage and thousands of social media tags.

Eugene has been invited to be speak publicly in a range of topics including Fashion, Metaverse, Web3, Science and Sustainability. He was on the panel for ‘Meta-Fashion’ at Right Click Save, ‘Digital Fashion: The Frontier’ at AAFW, panel speaker for Business of Design Week (BODW), sat on the judging panel for Polytechnic University Fashion Design graduate showcase and was also one of the panelists for an exclusive round table discussion with Iris Apfel in 2017.

As a musician, Eugene was invited to perform his original electronic music live set at Down/ Under Space in Sydney, Australia in March 2019 alongside with Miles Brown (Melbourne) and Fabric. He has also created a 12 mins ambient and dreamy music track ‘every tiny bits’ as a music collaborator and exhibitor for an immersive gigantic inflatable art currently exhibiting at ‘Soft Space’ Exhibition in Shenzhen Design Society in Year 2020/21.

With his on-going passion for fashion and tech, his label INJURY has premiered the first-ever 100% CG Fashion Show ‘The Butterfly’s Dream’ at the official Afterpay Australia Fashion Week on 3rd June 2021. The 2021/ 22 fashion collection was also launched immediately as see-now-buy-now on the official site. The film was featured on Vogue Polska and selected by Nick Knight of SHOWstudio as part of their fashion film feature; it is also internationally recognized and included in the official selection of world renowned film festivals including Fashion Film Festival Milano, ASVOFF 13 (A Shaded View Of Fashion Film), Bucharest Fashion Film Festival etc.

A physical screening event of the film was held on 3rd Dec 2021 at ASVOFF 13 Venue 35/37, the new concept space in Marais, Paris, founded by Dover Street Market, followed by online screening available on Fashion Film Channel on FNL Network.

Eugene emphasises in taking a holistic approach in all projects and mediums he encountered and continues to explore the boundaries co-existing between the virtual and the real; in fashion, architecture, music and art creations. 

Eugene is named as Changemaker 2022 by Afterpay Australian Fashion Week, recognising his work in bridging Digital Art & Fashion, and creating a brand that is more than fashion. INJURY has created the first-ever Metaverse Show at AAFW 2022 that bridges Fashion Metaverse, Tech, Music and Art in May 2022, where he premiered his second CGI Fashion Film ‘Rare Reality’. The film is in official selection of Berlin Fashion Film Festival, and awarded as Winner of ‘BEST DIGITAL FASHION’ fashion film amongst other reputable winners from Gucci, Mugler and Vogue etc, as well as Winner of ‘BEST VISUAL & SPECIAL EFFECTS’ at UK Fashion Film Festival and WINNER OF BEST FASHION FILM & BEST CREATED ENVIRONMENT at SENSEI FILM FESTIVAL. The film is also officially selected and screening at ASVOFF 14 (Paris) and Digital Media Fest (Rome).

in Aug 2022, Eugene has been selected as ‘Top Creator’ for MOVE NIPPON WITH TOP CREATORS campaign to creative direct for fashion showrooms and promotions in Japan.

EUGENE是時裝品牌INJURY創辦人, 創意總監, 策展⼈及⾳樂人。作為⼀名非學院派,他崇高多元化的創作手法,把時裝、空間設計、音樂和次文化融合為一。

畢業於新南威爾斯大學建築系, EUGENE 於2004年在澳洲悉尼無師自學創立個人時裝品牌INJURY。2005年推出INJURY⾸季秋冬系列 [What Lies Beneath],並於 Melbourne Fashion Week 首度亮相,贏得業界媒體與時裝買家的關注。⾃此 INJURY常被各大時裝周邀請,其SS17及AW16 系列更在巴黎時裝周的官⽅日程上展出。

EUGENE 的設計以另類文化為創作靈感,INJURY 男女裝系列分布全球超過 80 間 時裝精品店, 覆蓋澳洲及亞洲多個國家,包括 HARVEY NICHOLS、 I.T 、 DMOP、 ALTER STLYE 等。除了獲得世界各地名人及⾳樂⼈追捧, INJURY 登上各⼤大國際時裝雜誌, 如 VOGUE, SHOWstudio, Harpers Bazaar, Hypebae, WAD MAGAZINE、 WWD、 裝苑等. Eugene 亦活躍於時裝學術界. 並常被邀請在公開場合就包括時尚、Metaverse、Web3、科學和可持續發展等議題發言。 他曾擔任 Right Click Save 的「Meta-Fashion」專題講者,AAFW 的「Digital Fashion: The Frontier」專題講者,是 Business of Design Week (BODW) 的 Keynote Speaker,參與香港理工大學時裝設計研究生展示會評審委員會,還參加了 2017 年 Irises Apfel 的獨家圓桌討論會專題討論嘉賓。

Eugene 積極參與各時裝策展、音樂樂和設計文化活動。最近更聯同建築師作特別 crossover, 為展覽空間特別創造了一⾸ 22 分鐘長的純⾳樂,並於澳洲,德國,香港等地各大唱片店出版限量黑膠唱片[Groundwork], 及被邀請在悉尼Down/ Under Space 藝術空間作音樂演出。

受澳洲時裝周所邀,Eugene其時裝品牌INJURY 在2021年6月3日發佈了2021/22 系列’The Butterfly’s Dream’,成為澳洲第一個全CGI 的時裝秀,成一時佳話, 時裝大片入選多個國際Fashion Film Festival, ASVOFF14, Fashion Film Festival Milano, Bucharest Fashion Film Festival 及 SHOWstudio。2022年5月9日發佈2022/23系列RARE REALITY CGI 時裝大片,成為澳洲首個Metaverse Show, 時裝大片更被Berlin Fashion Film Festival 選為’Best Digital Fashion’ 入圍名單。

2022年 Eugene 榮獲 Australian Fashion Week ‘Changemaker’ 2022, 表彰他在數位藝術和時尚之間的橋樑工作, 並創造了一個不僅僅是時尚的品牌, 認定為帶領澳洲時裝行業邁進Digital Space的重要推手。

INJURY 在 2022 年 5 月在 AAFW 2022 上創造了第一個「Metaverse Show」, 把時尚 Metaverse、科技、音樂和藝術結合在一起, 並放映了他的第二部 CGI 時尚電影「Rare Reality」。 這部電影是柏林時尚電影節的官方選拔, 並被評為「最佳數位時尚」時尚電影獎, 也贏得了英國時尚電影節「最佳視覺和特效」獎和 SENSEI FILM FESTIVAL「最佳時尚電影」和「最佳創造環境」獎。 這部電影也被正式選拔並在 ASVOFF 14 (巴黎) 和 Digital Media Fest (羅馬) 放映。

在 2022 年 8 月, Eugene 被選為「頂級創作者」, 參加「MOVE NIPPON WITH TOP CREATORS」活動, 主導日本的時尚展示室和促銷活動。
